The Ambery family (formerly known as the Oriental family) comprises the subfamilies: Woody Amber (formerly Woody Oriental), Amber (formerly Oriental), Soft Amber (formerly Soft Oriental) and Floral Amber (formerly Floral Oriental). Michael Edwards renamed the categories in July 2021.
The Fragrance Wheel classification system was founded by fragrance taxonomist Michael Edwards and is a great way to classify and discover fragrances.
