A thick carpet of silver envelops the landscape, untouched but for the dazzling reflection of the sun. Snow stretches as far as the eye can see, while a bitter wind rolls silently across the sky, its hush barely broken by the powerful beat of an ivory wing. Despite the stillness of the arctic, the snowy owl senses a flutter beneath the icy crust far below. Through snowy tunnels voles scamper, oblivious to their fate. A warm glow stirs within the breast of the majestic bird as it dives, confident in its mastery over the frigid kingdom. Zoologist Snowy Owl glides on with a minty opening, while the gentle warmth of musk combines with beautiful hints of snowdrops, lily of the valley and iris. Sweet coconut and woody vanilla swoop in to surprise and entice. Snowy Owl merges cool vitality with exquisite softness in a captivating scent, ideal for those who aren't afraid to take what they desire.

Made in Canada

Perfumer Dawn Spencer Hurwitz takes the popular fruity-watery effect of calone and freezes it, turning it into pure icy snow. In so doing, the usual torrent of water slows to become something else entirely, shaking off its overtly masculine and ubiquitous associations: the possibilities are endless. Its touch is glacial and cool, its sharp freshness redoubled with the mentholic breath of mint and austere frankincense smoke cooled by the frosty air, infusing it with viscosity, texture, and brilliance. Creaminess comes from coconut, both its water and its milk, adding a sweet nuance, which then starts to emulate a thick blanket of snow.

Although Snowy Owl is crystalline, it is far from delicate. The snowy effect works through floral notes – the vernal green of lily of the valley, in this winter context, smells like the promise of life once again, kept on ice for now. The inherently cool qualities of iris adds body and complexity to the wintry chill, giving it dimension. It calls to mind roots snap frozen. Petals of rose are crushed into ice, its floral feeling adding stillness: it is the low sun without heat, infusing the scent with a spacious feeling. This is a noble fragrance, and it is kind about its coolness. Through this blanket of white appear flecks of nature: oakmoss, galbanum, mate – these are green bitter effects that populate the horizon, broken only with the majestic snowy owl soaring across this scene. In this fragrance, the somewhat fluffy, milky, and vanilla-tonka-musk effects in its heart call to mind this feathered creature. With a flap of its wings, it aerates the snow.
