Solid razor

This is a good entry level adjustable DE razor, dont let the plastic end of the razor fool you though, its pretty solid and has a good weight to it. You can adjust from barely a razor through to fairly aggressive (even more if you "turn it up to 11"). Works well with the blades I have tried, I like that you can adjust to suot the blades and also adjust to suit different areas of your face so you can easily give yourself a consistent shave all over.

Great Versatility

This adjustable razor is my current favourite because of its versatility. It has 5 adjustable settings that go from mild to very aggressive, which allows a close or a relaxing shave as they’d like.
The Progress comes with a smooth handle, but the protruding adjustment knob helps improve the grip.
Men’s biz provided the new version and there service was excellent.

Comparing 2 Razors

Just did a side by side comparison between the Progress adjustable razor and the Slant Bar 37C Razor. The first wtg pass with each razor gave a similar shave but the slant bar design slices and pulls the hair less and so feels smoother. The second pass on each side was ATG/XTG with the Progress adjusted to 3 on the dial. Both razors produced an extremely close shave with the Progress being a marginally closer shave but with a greater chance of drawing blood if not careful. Both razors are excellent to use with the Progress giving more adjustability to suit various needs while the slant bar design gives an easier and softer shaving experience. To cover all the bases why not buy both?

Outstanding Razor!

I recently purchased the Progress Classic to add as part of my Razor collection and after owning the Long Handled Version.

This razor (like its big brother version) is FANTASTIC to use. Being adjustable you can change it to suit your needs.

I had a 3 day growth and dialled it up to a "4", and it mowed down my beard in no time!

Be aware that the numbering system on the "Progress" series are not all the same. So my '4' may be equal to your '2', etc.

The "Plastic" knob on the bottom is a nice touch! I love my progress classic, its one of my favourite razors!

If you're on the fence about getting one, do it! I own the Long Handled Version, the Merkur Futur and the Merkur Vision 2000 and this is still one of my all time favourites! You wont be disappointed!
