“Under the Mirabeau bridge there flows the Seine… How slow life seems to me. How violent the hope of love can be.” Inspired by Guillaume Apollinaire’s poetic dedication to this bridge in Paris, it is a poem as slow as it is violent, expressing the brutal and desirable hope of the one who would like to believe, of the one who wants to love. It is an ode to the symbolism of the bridge, of coming together, the perfume translates the force of the poem - it conveys the melancholy of lost loves - it is strong and gentle all at once. Delicate top notes of fig, ozone, citrus, and spices recall soft, flowing water, fused with incense. Whilst the strength of woods, amber, and musks in the base speak of a sturdy bridge that seemingly endures forever.

Made in France

It begins with a fig seen through a watery prism, refracting and multiplying its impression. Obvious tropes are exaggerated - Sous Le Pont Mirabeau is an olfactory poem that moves with punctuated flow and variation. It is dredged in the same quality of shadowy incense, pepper, and amber synthetics as the much beloved Hermann a Mes Cotes, uniquely stirred with ozonic and fruity effects that reiterate the fleshy notes of the fig. Green and blue collide in this fragrance, and neither dissolve into the other. This fragrance is generous and expansive, concentrating around an accord that will remind you of the best qualities of an aquatic fragrance, the sticky pulp of an all-too green fig, but also the confident firmness of woods, beautifully softened in this fragrance with violet, vanilla, and musks that grows in intensity. Mirabeau is a seriously-made perfume that in fact relinquishes outward seriousness, colouring the world it imbues with humour, motivation, and pleasure.
