Rounded and ambient, this musk is definite – a singularly coherent harmony of spicy, sweet, creamy, and woody scent. In a word: pure … but at the same time, tenacious. The cleanliness of the central musk accord is touched up with nuances of fresh ginger and clean lavender for a natural feel. Beeswax imparts not only a gloss on the surface of this fragrance, but too a depth perfectly uniting with sandalwood. Transposed in musical terms, The Musc is a major tonality played quietly – joyful and majestic. And for legendary perfumer Calice Becker, it is a memory of goodness.

Calice Becker’s interpretation of musk is intent upon softness: something which infuses with the wearer to become more than a scent, but an enveloping aura. The lesson here is to appreciate the gentle undulations that emanate from the skin of the wearer – to seek and recognise not only a smell, but a feeling connected to The Musc. Seek textures, hues, and sensations, as the notes serve to produce these effects. Many tones of white speckle amongst each other, as beeswax, lavender, red ginger, and sandalwood form the many white that define this fragrance.

There are two musk notes worth noting – especially for their names: Serenolide and Nirvanolide, respectively fruity and milky, they work on the oxymoronic basis of intense softness, colouring the horizon of the fragrance a pastel hue with an intense trail.
