Skin Care Routine For Normal Skin

What is normal skin?

Normal skin isn't too oily or too dry, and rarely experiences pimples and blemishes. Pores are small, skin looks balanced and feels smooth to touch. This skin type is lucky, but you'll still need to stick to a good routine to avoid heading into the too oily or too dry category.

Step 1: Cleanse

Why? Remove dirt and oil your skin naturally collects.
When? Twice a day, morning and night.
What? Jack Black Pure Clean Facial Cleanser

Use a gentle cream cleanser, preferably one that is free from skin-drying sulphates.

Step 2: Tone

Why? Remove dirt and oil missed when cleansing, and prime the skin for moisturiser.
When? Twice a day, morning and night, after washing your face.
What? Baxter of California Herbal Mint Toner

Toner can help to prime skin, allowing moisturisers and serums to apply more evenly and penetrate deeper into your skin. Try and stay away from astringents, which contain alcohol that could dry out your skin.

Step 3: Treat

Why? If you want to target a specific issue, such as fine lines and wrinkles, or need an extra boost of moisture during winter, then look at adding a serum to your routine.
When?1-2 times a day, after toning.
What? Jack Black Protein Booster Skin Serum

Like the vitamin-packed shot you add to your juice, serums are highly concentrated, fast acting and effective.

Step 4: Moisturise

Why? Restore and trap moisture in the skin.
When? Twice a day, morning and night, after toning and/or applying serum.
What? Jack Black Clean Break Oil-Free Moisturiser

A lightweight moisturiser will help keep skin smooth and hydrated. During winter you might want to apply a serum underneath or use a heavier moisturiser, to prevent dryness. If your moisturiser doesn't contain any SPF, always apply a sunscreen afterwards.

Step 5: Exfoliate

Why? Remove dead skin cells, revitalise complexion and prep the skin for shaving.
When? 2-3 times a week, after cleansing and before shaving.
What? Jack Black Face Buff Energising Scrub

Exfoliating helps to lift hairs and prepare the skin for shaving, allowing for a smoother and closer shave.

Extras: Glycolic Acid Treatment

Why? Brighten, tone and smooth skin.
When? Every night, after cleansing.
What? Jack Black Line Smoother 8% Glycolic Acid Treatment

Glycolic Acid (an AHA) is a chemical exfoliant to gently remove dead skin cells for brighter, smoother skin texture.
