This Aoud invents a forest with marine notes, on a base of white musk and ambergris, pounding between the freshness of lemon, grapefruit, rosemary and the richness of rose and ginger. What sort of forest has Montale constructed? Here the medicinal oud note is drowned in a solar warmth, like a clearing in a pine tree forest where the light breaches through the cracks. This light is a green-tinted hue enlivened with piercing citrus fruits and salty air, falling on an abundance of rich and vibrant Moroccan rose petals and leaves spiced with the high note of ginger, softened with ambergris and musk.
