From the ethereal perspective of the exquisitely adorned hummingbird, the world is an endless kaleidoscope of colourful, fragrant blooms offering up their tempting delights. An insatiable desire for sweetness propels the hummingbird as it floats from flower to flower, sampling the nectar with a gentle touch of its delicate tongue. Retreating to its lichen and moss-lined nest, it settles into the cozy cocoon and dreams of sweet ambrosia. Zoologist Hummingbird mingles light floral tones with delectable fruity nectars to create a harmonious balance. This diaphanous scent alights upon you in a pastel bouquet of honeysuckle, mimosa, lilac and peonies, with just the lightest dusting of natural sugars found in pear, cherry and honey. A finishing dollop of velvety whipped cream melds the tantalizing notes, completing this irresistible and opulent perfume.

Shelley Waddington’s style is rich and sumptuous, rendered in the most vibrant colours with a generous hand. Hummingbird is drunk after gorging on the nectars of the most colourful flowers and fruits, intense like concentrated orbs of light that dot the canvas of an oil painting. This is serious perfumery, establishing a classical chypre-like form that operates on an essential contrast of tones. Vibrancy gains its value against a dark base, which resembles a nest of moss flecked with tonka bean and creamy-lactonic musks. It is easy to imagine a luscious garden in the vernal light, like an impossible Edenic scene rendered in collage.
Hummingbird resembles an artist’s palette that itself turns into a glorious picture. Fruits gain a lustre on their surface, decadently dressed in florals and nuanced with chypric shading. It can be appreciated from many angles, all of them an arresting experience.
