Carefully made by skilled English craftspeople, the Simpsons Classic 1 Travel Synthetic Brush is a highly regarded short and compact brush with an extremely dense knot. The traditional simulated ivory handle has been hand turned and packed meticulously, following a 90+ year old tradition. Formed using premium grade synthetic fibres designed to imitate badger hair, the brush offers ultra-soft tips, excellent backbone and faster drying.

To use, immerse bristles in clean, warm water and shake off excess. Apply shaving cream to wet brush and use a circular motion to work up a creamy lather. Always rinse the brush in clean water after use and do not boil or soak.

I prefer my travel brush to be small, synthetic (fast drying) and in "one-intact-piece" (have never been a fan of the so called ingenious fold-back design). With the fact that the brush also comes with its own snug fitting travel tube, no doubt that Simpson's Classic 1 Synthetic would be the perfect option for me.

This is my second Classic 1 Synthetic. If I remembered correctly, my lost first one (purchased somewhere else few years back) was labelled "SYNTHETIC BADGER", was more densely packed, and with a sticker/decal on the travel tube. Not too sure whether the current "SYNTHETIC BRISTLE" is a different grade of fibre, or just a change of name to make it more "animal friendly". But nevertheless, the current brush has a more luxurious feel on the face with extremely soft silky tips. The latherability seems to be better than the previous brush as well, whipping up top notch quality lathers in less than a few tens of seconds. Initially, it was very difficult to splay the knot when lathering, but it does ease quite a bit after 2 weeks of use without losing its backbone. What a small but terrific latherer, a perfect travel brush (at least for me, personally). Highly recommended!
