Description

Thiers Issard Chromox Finishing Paste takes the 'bite' out of a very sharp, aggressive edge. Perfect for use after extra fine diamond grits (Thiers Issard 0.25 Micron) or super fine hones (Shapton 16000 or 30000), it will give you a very smooth and comfortable edge, with no loss of shave closeness.

HOW TO USE

Stir well before use. It is recommended to use Chromox paste on either a fine leather paddle-strop or on a fine leather hanging-strop. Before first use, rub a generous amount of paste into the surface of the strop using your fingers. You want to completely cover the surface and fill the pores of the leather. Then wipe all the excess paste off the surface using a paper towel. When you are getting only a trace of lapping paste on the towel, the strop is ready for use. When in use, about 10 round-trips with the razor on the strop is usually sufficient - overuse will decrease the closeness of the shave.

RECOMMENDED FOR

Sharpening, Keeping Razor in 'Shave Ready' Condition, Straight Razor, Cut Throat Razor, Cut-throat Razor, Open Razor, Wet Shaving.

Blown away. Review by: P. 20/09/2018
Rating:
I was absolutely blown away at how well this stuff performs. It will put a mirror finish on any decently honed blade. I used it after a 12k Shapton stone and got my best edge yet.

It's expensive, but a little goes a long way. I think this one little tub will easily last me for years.

My only complaint is that it's difficult to apply. It not solid like many other chromox 'crayons' or sticks, but it's not really a paste either. You'll want to use a piece of hard plastic or something to spread this over your strop.
