good lather and great shave Review by: alex 17/10/2019
It is easily the best shaving soap i have ever bought (only shaving soap ive ever bought) but it far and away beats any shaving cream i have bought from the local supermarket.
A standard for all soaps Review by: Rob 9/10/2019
This should be one of those standard soaps that others see judged against. For the price, it's hard to beat the lather that can be achieved from Proraso soaps. If you havent tried it, you should.
Great lather and scent AND VALUE! Review by: Eric 20/02/2019
You can't go past this shaving soap for quality and value.
Gets the job done Review by: Nick 4/10/2018

Excellent Review by: Jonathan 4/09/2018

Excellent value for money Review by: Philip 28/11/2017
I decided to try it having read about it here. The good reviews are spot on - it's excellent.
Good value Review by: Matt 5/09/2017
This is a classic 'croap' - half cream, half soap. It's very good value and has an excellent scent. Not sure I get the big old 'whiff' I associate with sandalwood, but if you take an extra minute to whip this up into a lather rather than loading the brush and going straight onto your skin you will be rewarded with an excellent lather. At this price, you should have a tub of this up your sleeve. I have spent 4 times as much on solid soaps that are terrible by comparison. I also find that when you go with a cream either in a tube or a tub, you tend to go through them so quickly - they just aren't usually value for money. They say this 150ml tub should last you 6 months of daily use, and I'd believe it. For $13 you can't go wrong adding this to your shave cave.
Does the job well Review by: Peter 1/09/2017
Nice and protective, not too drying. Slick with a nice comforting sandalwood fragrance which does tend to stick around subtly all day. It took a while to get used to, but I quite like it. It's good quality and very cheap too.
A QUIET ACHIEVER Review by: Pierre 29/05/2017
Excellent "not so famous brother" of the green Proraso. Slightly creamier soap texture produces an excellent silky, creamy lather.

Lacks the menthol/Eucalyptus punch and coolness feel of the green tub but is perfect during cooler months as the lovely sandalwood scent suits wintry mornings.

Beats the green Proraso with lather quality and richness.
Easy to use Review by: Jeff 10/05/2017
Leaves my face feeling smooth and moisturised. Works fine on me, and I have mildly dry skin and pretty thin facial hair.
Doesn't smell quite like sandalwood, but the scent is still pleasant.
Great choice, especially for the winter.
Favourite Sandalwood Soap Review by: Anton 26/02/2017
Lathers up just as easily as the rest of the proraso range, feels great on and leaves skin protected. I have a sensitive area on my neck that had no troubles with this soap and the scent is perfect. I was using blue before this but this is now my favourite.
Just excellent Review by: David 16/08/2016
Had a beard for years and was a big fan of the beard oil from Proraso so I tried this as a shaving soap and I also got the green tube. Must admit I prefer smell and face feel of the red one - green kinda tingly and cold which I guess will be nice in summer. The bowl is easy enough to use but I think next time I'll get this as a tube as its easier to put into lathering bowl. All in all - excellent shaving soap and would highly recommend.
Reliable Review by: Ben 27/06/2016
My go-to soap for all seasons. An easy lather and a nice rich foam, not too slick, not too oily.
5 Stars Review by: Stefano 7/04/2016
I've always shaved my head under the shower with nothing but water and a cartridge razor. Not anymore. When I first started to grow facial hair, I was taught to shave. I squeezed a pressure pack bottle of cream into my hands, lathered up my face, and attacked it with a cartridge razor. I remember the lather being very thick, almost comic to use. Wish I was more educated about a good lather. That's what this is.

I no longer shave my beard and moustache, but I shave my head 3-4 times a week. Most people cringe when I tell them, however I used nothing but water and a cartridge razor under the shower. I would often get nicks, and always at best end up with razor burn. My head would be hot all day, itchy, and sometimes painful with red raw pain.

I've changed two things that have now made shaving enjoyable, and I don't spend the day recovering and dreading the next shave. This lather is slick, but thin. It smells nice and it really lubricates and helps the razor (Merkur 33C) glide over my head so well that my first shave with a DE razor produced the smoothest shave, and not one single nick or any razor burn in sight.

I'm nearly 40. Been shaving my head for over ten years. And while I stopped shaving my beard and stash, I'm sure that it offers the same smooth gliding lubrication over your face as well. My only complain is my own fault. I should have bought the tube instead of the tub. I don't use a brush and won't. I use my hands so I can feel my scalp as I shave. Once this tub finishes I'll buy a tube for better application.

I haven't use other brands yet, but so far, I'm off to a winner here and the other reviews are pretty much what I experienced.
Very effective Review by: PJ 1/03/2016
This soap has some of the thickest, most protective lather I've come across. Very creamy. It's very easy to lather (perhaps the easiest of any of the eight or so creams and soaps I've tried). The fragrance confuses me a bit. At first I hated it, thinking it was too powdery and sweet, then I came to like it, and now I'm not sure. I can imagine many people loving it unreservedly though. I recommend this, especially considering the low price and high quality.
Best Proraso soap ever! Review by: Steve B 22/12/2015
Just like the green and white Proraso shaving soaps, the red Proraso soap is great value for money, lasts a long time and generates a great lather on the brush and in the shaving bowl.

However, I found this one to be the best of the Proraso shaving soaps as it lathered up the best, has a very nice sandalwood odour to it and it provided me with a very smooth and satisfying shave. As mentioned on the packaging and in the official description, this is ideal for dry skin and coarse hair. However, any skin will do and you should get a great result every time.

This is a must have shaving soap: it lathers up very well, feels great on the skin, smells nice and it's very good value for money. I do recommend it.
Good Shaving Soap Review by: Kyle 11/02/2014
Compared to the Blue Proraso Cream, it smells better, unless you don't like sandlewood scents.
Lather takes more work and water but I think it is a better lather.
The shave is the same and the skin feels pretty good after both.
Love this soap Review by: MD 23/10/2013
