Lots of work for poor results.

Are you the type of man who likes to do things the ultra hard way and end up with sub-par results? Yes, then this soap is right up your alley! I will side with other reviews etc. on the internet. I purchased this from the Melbourne store because I wanted to try Trumpers and the scent attracted me.

If you want any sort of later, do not take it anywhere near water, don't even think about water, because that's too much. I wasted half the product just trying to figure out how to get a lather that I could shave with (and then I only get half my face before it turns). Your best bet is to wet your brush and then squeeze out any (ANY) water you can... then load up and go straight to your face.

My experience with this soap was that bad that I stopped shopping at MensBiz for a while and the soap ended up doing another sub-par performance as snail repellent around the Veggie garden..

Go-to goodness

This shaving soap has been my go to product for 4 years.
This soap is easy to lather using a badger hair brush and a little water produces a thick lather that is easy to apply and I really like the scent, not too strong, just pleasant.
One soap refill usually lasts me about a year of shaving 3-4 times a week.
Wholeheartedly recommended.

Does the job, but disappointing

I appreciate that other reviewers have had a better experience with getting a rich lather, but I found the lather from this soap to be very disappointing. It does a reasonable job, but if you like a rich lather, stick with the Trumper's Limes Shaving Cream.

Striking bowl

Upon lifting the polished wooden lid, I was greeted with the smell of, well, soap.
Whilst there is a hint of lime, it's hardly dominant. I liken it to the role Alfred P. Doolittle plays in the 1964 American musical film adaptation of My Fair Lady - less out and out star, but certainly there in support.
As for the Lather, well it never reached second gear. The suds dissipated before I could wield the 34C HD sporting a fresh Astra across my skin, causing unparalleled levels of irritation.
Not an enjoyable shave for mine.

Very nice performance with a nice subtle Lime scent!

Having owned other GFT soaps (Rose and Sandalwood), I couldn't wait to add "Lime" to my collection.

Like all the GFT soaps, the soap comes in a well presented box (as shown in the picture) which gives you an overview of GTF.

Inside is a very nice wooden bowl which houses the soap (which is sealed in plastic to keep it fresh).

On taking off the plastic I was greeted with a very light lime scent! Reminiscent of a freshly squeezed lime as the description states.

I re-hydrated the soap (ie. place some water on the soap and leave it to absorb), and then started my lather.

The performance of the soap like all GFT soaps I have used prior was magnificent! With some soaps, I am not able to product a rich lather, and usually tend to use these to face lather directly as opposed to bowl lathering, however, with all GFT soaps (including this one) I have been able to bowl lather without any issues.

The lime scent is very subtle, so I sometimes get a lime / soapy scent, however, the performance is top notch! Nice, thick, rich lather which lasted for a 3 pass shave!

All in all, I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to get into GFT soaps. Its light on the lime scent, but well worth it for the performance.

Thank you Mens Biz for the lightning fast shipping and sound advise!
