Doesn't Lather

I have not been able to get a decent lather out of this soap. I've tried loading a lot of product; I've tried loading a small amount of product; both face and bowl lathering. When laterhing, the result either says very soapy and dries out well before shaving has finished, or turns into a foamy mess if a bit more water is added.

I really like the GFT creams, however am quite disappointed with the soap. I was wondering if the soap that has been left for too long on the shelf, so I googled a bit. A few other people have had similar experiences.

To my mind, this product is not fit for purpose. As a point of comparison, I've had no problems getting a good lather from AoS and B&M soaps.

The bowl is decent enough, so I'll salvage that.

Smooth

Unlike other, I found that this soap lathers really well. Feels great on the skin and I get a good shave.

A little hard to lather

A nice natural, light, coconut fragrance soap that leaves the face feeling somewhat sticky but not in an entirely unpleasant way. Achieving a consistent lather sometimes proves to be a challenge. Water levels must be near perfect and then the soap performs as it should. I suspect a firmer boar brush as opposed to the pure badger i currently use might be more conducive to a successful lather process. Still an enjoyable soap to use but my softer Cella soap will feature more heavily in my rotation.

Great Soap

Great smelling soap yet not so strong as to mess with any other aftershaves or colognes. The lather comes out nice and rich for great coverage and an easy shave. Definitely buying this product more often.

First time using this soap after using the GFT coconut cream for years. Have also tried the Tabac soap as well which I would suggest is on par with the cream. Scent etc., are all great, but it didn't lather as easily as the other two products mentioned. I do lather on my face/head and not in a bowl. Great wooden bowl though, now it just needs the spoon to match.
