Thayers Witch Hazel Review.

I thought I'd try the sampler pack as it's a great way to test drive a product without blowing a huge amount of dough.

There are 9 plastic bottles in the sampler pack, one each of Lavender, Medicated, Original (Astringent), Original (Alcohol Free) , Rose Petal, Peach, Unscented, Lemon, Cucumber.

Don't be put off by the Peach, Rose Petal, Lavender, Lemon & Cucumber tags, the fragrances are very subtle and won't get you any "odd" sidelong glances on the street or in the shopping centres.

They all contain Aloe Vera although the percentage isn't mentioned on the labels.

My personal preference is for the Lemon (it smells great !) although they all have the same soothing properties. It's wise to adhere to the website and label instructions and apply with a cotton pad or cottonwool ball as there's no insert in the bottle top which allows you to squeeze the bottle and control the amount which goes into the hand.
Once the screwtop is removed there's a fairly large entrance to the bottle and, if the bottle is inverted, you risk dispensing copious amounts when all you really need is a little.

Since my samples arrived I'v had a chance to try each one, and my opinion is that it's a very good product, has been in existence since 1847 and (for a change) isn't made in China ! It's made in the USA in Westport Connecticut.

I've been using it immediately after shaving and there's no sting, just a nice soothing/cooling effect. I let it dry before applying any other product/s

The amount of each sample I've used already indicate that they're going to last me a long, long time.
Each bottle contains 2 fl.oz. (59 ml) so they're not like the samples Men's Biz adds to your purchases.

Thayers Witch Hazel is one of the best products for aftershave skin care. This selection provides an affordable means of trying out all of the astringents and toners. You get a lot of mileage out of each bottle and they are a perfect size for your travel kit. Thayers Witch Hazel is a permanent part of my daily shave routine. Great value in this kit.

As a first time user of witch hazel I didn't want to fork out heaps for a product that I might not like. The beauty of the Witch Hazel Sampler pack is that you get 9 products in a combination of astringents and toners to try out.

Each sample is 59ml and, whilst this may not sound like much, each application requires such a small amount that each will last for quite a while.

The peach, lavender, cucumber and rose petal sound a bit of a novelty for guys to be using (!) but the formula in each sample appears to be slightly different so you do get a slightly different feel on your skin. I'm quite partial to the rose petal. The scent doesn't last very long once on the skin so I don't get strange looks when on the train! If you're purchasing for a long lasting scent then forget it and use a cologne.

The function of the product has worked for myself. A few of the samples gives a bracing bite when applied after a shave but only for a second or two. It is quite soothing, cooling and non greasy. I can now understand why so many people swear by witch hazel.
Now that I've tried each sample I have my favorites that I'll run them down before definitely buying a couple if full sizers.

I'd definitely recommend to anyone new to witch hazel or wanting to experience the different scents.

This is a great way to try Thayers flavours before buying a bigger bottle. The bottles are a great size for sampling and for travel. They last for ages!

Don't hesitate to grab this sample pack if you have been eyeing the thayers line of products. You get a very generous amount to sample, and can figure out which flavour is for you. Personally I think I prefer the original, thought all of the scented ones are pleasant. If you always use a particular shave cream, for example a rose scented one, it is great to pair the cream and your witch hazel scents.

Thayers make the gold standard of Witch Hazels and if you want a simple post shave toner or a gentle any-time facial cleanser WH is hard to beat.

There are many different variations offered by Thayers and this sampler is the best way to try them before buying a larger bottle. They're also great for travel and I keep a few of the empty bottles as refills for this.

Post shave Thayers cleans, soothes, tones and moisturises (aloe) really well. It's super refreshing at any time of day, but especially after a shave.

The only down side is that you can't really try them all at once!

Okay so i decided to plunge into the world of Witch Hazel and simply put I can't go a day without using this product at least twice a day. I have senstive and dry skin and I am prone to ingrowns/ razor bumps. After my shave (poraso aloe + green tea - Mensbiz badger brush) I dab some of the unscented witch hazel on and then apply my normal after shave balm a couple of minutes later.I also apply it daily/nightly when i'm not shaving. Now i've only tried unscented which hazel (alcohol free) and so far the results are outstounding, It's not only reduced my razor bumps (not sure if that is one of it's purposes) but it's kept my neck very smooth and fresh which is what I've been constantly trying to find a cure for years on end. I've tried my fair share of moisturises and razor bump repairs and after shave balms but this seems to do the trick and with great results. The sample pack is amazing and it will last you a long time, I'm going to go through a bottle at a time and see which one I love using the best and stick with that. So far I've only had it for a week now and I'm not even close to a 1/6th through it. seems like people were right about witch hazel, I can't live without it now.
