TOBS is a quality aftershave Bay Rum. It has a manly traditional scent that is long lasting and very pleasant.

If you are "old school" with your shaving, you will love TOBS Bay Rum.

It definitely only requires a small dash to refresh your face after a good lather and razor shave, don't overdo it as it can be overpowering if used too liberally.

A glass bottle would add a little class.

I have some shaving soaps fragranced with bay rum and love the smell. So after reading the glowing reviews posted here I ordered a bottle.

Instead of the subtle hint of bay rum I was expecting this was a very strong smell strangely reminiscent of cooking. I think the traditional bay rum aroma is one you either love or hate. I have only used it once to see if the smell changes when applied, it doesn’t. It’s now gathering dust under the basin next to a bottle of Brut.

I’m not saying this is a bad product (it’s not, look at the reviews) but I think a lot of people will really struggle with the traditional bay rum smell as I have.

My order arrived yesterday (10-05-10) along with a sample of Jack Black "Beard Lube." The Beard Lube surprised me somewhat. I didn't know exactly what it was but it's a pre-shave oil, a shave cream and a skin conditioner all-in-one. I had a weekend's growth to plough through so I gave it a go. With a fresh Feather blade in my Merkur Vision I got rid of the stubble in one fell swoop - just one pass WTG. The Bay Rum was generously applied and IMHO it leaves the Ogalalla for dead ! I have to have a laugh when I say that name ......... it sounds like I'm gargling !!
The fragrance is tops and lasted most of the day. One of my daughters remarked how expensive it smelled ! It came in a huge 250ml (8.4 fl. oz) bottle so it should last quite a long time. The fact that the bottle's plastic in no way diminished it's value. One criticism though ..... the hole in the pourer is just a tad too big so I suggested to Nathan that he mention that to
TOBS the next time he ordered. He did that by mail yesterday and TOBS replied almost immediately saying they'd look into it.
All in all a very satisfactory purchase, no doubt one I'll be making again.

Wasn't sure how the product was going to stack up as it arrived in a plastic bottle which looked cheap. Rest assured, the Bay Rum is an excellent after shave. It helped soothe the nicks and smell great throughout the day. Good value for the price.

I have rated this only four stars due to the plastic bottle, however as an aftershave it's excellent. Really soothes and conditions the skin and the scent is a wonderful bay rum. Be aware that the sprinkle top lets out a lot of product.

Don't let the plastic bottle fool you, this is a top quality bay rum. I use 3 different top priced bay rums that I love and TOBS is the first that I am running out of as I use it the most. The bottle allows you to squeeze the perfect amount in your hand to splash on your face and head (in my case) so you don't waste any. It has enough bite to let you know it works and leaves your skin feeling tight but not dry. Out of my big 3, I will buy this one again.
