Tauer L'Oudh builds around a natural oudh essential oil from Laos with hints of floral, woody and animalic notes. An array of earthy scents can be detected: decaying wood, mushroom notes, humid soil and the earth of a forest glade where Andy Tauer spent a lot of time as a boy, growing up in the Swiss countryside. Made in Switzerland.
Editor's Notes: Tauer's take on the oud note is hypnotic, which can only be achieved by starting with the real deal: venerable Laotian oud oil. With his signature brushstrokes emphasising luminosity even in darkness, L'Oudh is an impasto painting: layers of thickly applied notes such as Javanese vetiver root, animalic castoreum, and clean, slightly fruity tones bring out an oily, glossy varnish to oud. L'Oudh sinks on the skin. This is as oud-y as it gets.
