Tauer Incense Extreme is built around a natural CO2 extra of Boswellia Serrata, commonly known as incense. It is translucent like the first whiff of incense smoke from Boswellia resin on red gleaming coal. Yet, it is crisp like a night in the desert. Coriander and the freshness of petit grain set the accents in the opening. The Boswellia serrata extract is the central cornerstone of the fragrance, at an extreme concentration of 25%, rounded off with dry woods and ambergris in the background. Soft iris balances the incense in the heart.

Fragrance Family:
Woods

Main Notes:
Coriander, Petitgrain, Incense, Orris, Oud Accords, Ambergris

Concentration:
Eau de Parfum

Occasion:
A sparkling incense, Incense Extreme is versatile enough to be worn across all seasons and times of day.

Made in Switzerland

Extreme only in its softness, Incense Extreme is a scent of remarkable spiritual purity. The effect of incense here is akin to the gentle impact of blinding white light: soft, cradling, and superbly balanced on a bed of woods. For fans of Comme des Garcons' Incense Series, namely Avignon, this may be your next favourite.

Not for frankincense fans

This one is stripped of Olibanum's mystery and warmth. Smells like L'Oreal made a frankincense shampoo and conditioner set.

A SLOW BURNER

Incense Extreme: Extreme isn't a strong enough adjective in my opinion. At first it smelled too bitter but I've had the sample floating around for several months now and over time I've grown to really love it. I'd say that this has become my favourite from the line. I don't get any immediate associations of religion (like many other incense frags) but it does feel solemn. Later in the dry-down it becomes less bitter and much warmer, moving slowly and gracefully. Well worth the wait.

Deep breath

This is a lovely grounded and comforting, straight-up incense fragrance.
