Good old faithful.
"Everyone should have a tub of this in their kit because its affordable and its such a tried-and-tested performer. Lathers up incredibly into a luxurious thick and protective foam. Cooling menthol soothes (some might say numbs) the skin and your skin can feel a bit dry at the end, but most wet shavers will either use an alum block, aftershave or moisturiser anyway."

Good, not Great
"I get a great shave from this, but I find the scent a bit off-putting. It's a little bit like generic soap. I prefer the scent and the gentler cooling effect of the White Proraso."

A classic for a reason
"A well loved Italian shaving soap that should be in every wet shavers bathroom cupboard. As Tabac is a great winter soap, Proraso is a great summer soap leaving you with that fresh menthol and eucalyptus tingle."

Proraso: the Old Faithful!
"One has to agree with the other reviews of this great product. In a market crammed with as many soaps and creams as there are beer brands, it's nice to have something that does the job it's designed for with consistent excellence. Nobody who tries it with a decent badger brush would ever go back to using foamy chemical goop out of a spray can!"

Super value
"I used Proraso shave soap for years, it's the ultimate bargain for shaving, lasts for months. There are better products (I now use Trumpers), but nothing beats this for value. The only thing I found was that the last bit of Proraso in the tub doesn't seem to lather up as well, maybe gets diluted from use. But you've more than got your money's worth by then!"

Makes Shaving A Joy
"A fantastic addition to the shaving tool kit. It lathers up nicely with a shaving brush and goes on nice and smooth. As a welcome side effect, I've found my skin has been much better since using this. Perfect partner to the Proraso pre-shave cream and aftershave balm."

Re-united with an old friend!
"I stumbled across this shave soap years ago and loved it. It's true, a pot will last your approx 6 months. After that first pot I could never find it again. Its great to see it here again and thanks to this site, I'm now back in the Proraso saddle."

"I've tried the older brother of this fantastic product but let me assure you, if the proraso name lives on in the entire range of merchandise, I will be purchasing this magnificent cream. If Im going to shave each and every morning, I may as well enjoy it, and I can be assured that Proraso will be with me all the way."
