Very fine clay that is very easy to apply. It certainly does sting a bit which I only assume it means it's doing something. It doesn't burn, but it's enough to be unpleasant. It didn't really do much for me except I could see a bit of oil being sucked from my nose pores. It would certainly be an excellent product to those with excessively oily skin, of which I'm not.
