Great performer Review by: Gus 17/02/2012
You'll read reviews by some who find this soap difficult to lather.I don't know if Melbourne water has a magic ingredient in it but I had absolutely no trouble in creating a fabulously rich lather with this soap.I must admit though that I do place about a tablespoon of warm water on top of my new pucks and allow the soap time to absorb the water prior to using the soap. This seems to prime soaps nicely and I never have trouble creating a good lather. As a means to properly evaluate the latherability of my soaps I use a Simpson Wee Scot which is the smallest badger in production. If it passes the Wee Scot test then I am confident that any other brush that I use with the product is going to provide the goods.MWF has a mild scent that I can only describe as being very clean. The rich lather provides a very comfortable shaving medium with the lanolin most likely providing the smooth glide. My skin feels very soft and smooth after shaving with MWF.This is one of the regulars in my shave kit and one that I will often reach for.Variety is the spice of life and something that will change your shaving routine from being mundane and an effort to something that you will look forward to with each day.The cost of a puck of MWF makes it an affordable addition to your kit and also one that provides a great quality shaving experience.Definitely recommended.

unbelievably good Review by: slicey 17/12/2013
Not much to add on this soap that hasn't been said, if there was such a thing as soap perfection, this would have to give it a nudge.
A minor clerical error with my address meant I got my order a day later than I expected (but hey, it was peak Christmas rush) and I had to chase the transport company with a phone call or two.
In the end, it all worked out, yet again menzbiz delivers.

Luscious shave soap reminds me of the wonderful fitjar(Scandinavian) soap. Perth water lathers it a treat too. AAA

Great standby soap Review by: Karl 14/01/2013
This soap is my standby soap. I use it for testing new blades, or the odd time I bust out the straights, since it is so consistent for me. It does take a bit more time to get lathered up than some soaps, but once you've got it, its well worth the little extra effort. This soap is also a great moisturizer. And it just lasts and lasts, its a bargain at the price.

Great product! Review by: RL, Surrey Hills 29/12/2011
This soap is a long way ahead of all others I've tried. My skin is super sensitive and this soap does the job beautifully; plus, once you've invested in the ceramic bowl, the refills are a bargain at under $20 - and they last a long time. There is definitely a reason why this tried and tested product has been around for so long!

Awesome! Review by: Steve 11/07/2013
I have read that MWF (or "the fat") can be very picky about how much water it needs/wants. I live in a place that has hard water (I think!) so YMMV, but I have not had too much trouble so far working up a suitable lather. The thing I love about this soap is that it's so nice to my skin. As one review I read somewhere said, "once you get past the fact that you're basically applying a dead sheep to your face, it works great".

Whatever is in it feels great on my skin, and so far out of all the soaps and creams I have, MWF leaves my skin feeling very lovely and soft post shave. It also smells quite unique, but very subtle. Some folks may not like it, but I do.

Overall, excellent product. I sprung for the ceramic bowl, which made it an expensive purchase but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

I'm a happy customer of both MWF and Mens Biz. I have made four separate purchases so far and all of them have been delivered within 24 hours, and all with a little extra surprise in the box. Can't say enough about their customer service!

Perfect Review by: User 3/05/2013
While I do not find this soap hard to lather it is a bit more thirsty than some other soaps I have tried.
It has a great scent that is very light but comforting.
This soap provides the cushioning and glide that produces a reliably wonderful result.

Good price, great product. Review by: Sam 24/04/2013
I've only tried it on soft water (Melbourne and tank), but it lathers extremely well.
Sure you could get that cheaper soap, but it may not be as good, or last as long. 20 bucks for a years shaving soap? That's probably cheaper than canned goo.

The legend Review by: Chris 27/04/2012
Tried this soap purely on its fantastic reputation on the wet shaving forums. I was not disapointed with its perfomance. Easy to lather with a great cushion provided. Mild scent but this is plus in my opinion. Leaves your skin feeling soft and moisturised.
Great stuff

Natural, old school and totally awesome! Review by: Baz 29/07/2014
Being my first soap, and after reading other reviews, I was very surprised at how easy this was to lather.
Just rinse the puck under some warm water, give it a couple swirls with your brush and away you go!
This soap is very cushioning, very slick, and much more forgiving than any cream I have tried.
It also looks like it will last an absolute age!

Simply the best. Review by: Peter 2/05/2014
Hands down simply the best shaving soap available!

No fragrance (just a very mild & natural smelling soap - not even a hint of perfume - some shaving products tend to go over the top with perfume fragrances - not this one).

You read all over the web about this soap being difficult to lather - well, I have zero issues getting an amazing & luxurious lather. From the first use I've found it easy (& fast) to build up a fantastic rich lather.

To sum it up:
Mitchell's Wool Fat + Sydney water + badger brush == THE BEST LATHER EVER!
