After trying many different razors, including new Merkurs and vintage Gillettes, I would say this is the best value razor you can buy. It is nice and heavy, which allows the razor to do the work and the adjustability allows you to make it as smooth or aggressive as you like. The adjustment mechanism is smooth and blade changing is as easy as all the other Merkur razors. This is now the only DE razor I use.

This razor is aggressive! It took me a little while to tame it, but the shaves are superlative once you do. I found Derby's and Personna's to be the best with this thing - you definite need a smooth blade to counter it's aggression.
