Provides no shine at all, and reasonably fixed hold. I found it was pretty good at styling my hair when it was a little shorter (around 1.5"), but it's ok when used in combination on my now longer hair (around 3"). Hold didn't last particularly long for me, but it is reworkable to a degree. Need soap to wash it from hands and a good wash to get it out of hair if you use any significant amount. It's pretty good when mixed with a leave in conditioner (like the Men-u LIC).
