Etat Libre d'Orange Tom of Finland is the true erotic power of flesh and a leather jacket. This is fresh, pure water, with top notes of aldehydes and lemon. A water that washes away the sins of the night and leaves the skin luminous, with notes of birch leaves, cypress, galbanum and pine at its heart. Fantasy clings to him like his leather jacket, with suede, musk, and ambergris in the base notes. His belt is fastened with an accord of pepper and spicy-fresh saffron, tangled with a blond suede sensuality on a vanilla bed of tonka bean and iris. It is an ode to the beauty of the male body and to the radiance of the natural self. A tribute to tomorrow’s glorious possibilities.

Iris dominated, green, ozonic leather.

[Review of Tom of Finland Sample Vial]

On first spray, you are overwhelmed with peppery heat which quickly dries down to an iris dominated, green, ozonic leather. As is typical from Etat Libre d'Orange this is another successful yet inconceivably bizarre concoction of well-blended notes that should probably never have mixed but we sure are glad that they did. I really appreciate this scent, it's a good everyday wear fragrance that is quite left of field.

Something different!

You know what? This one has a different scent and while the scent has some uncertainty at the start, it warms into it some time later and it's then that you get to appreciate it. If you're bored with mainstream you can't go wrong with this one.

Simple, honest fresh scent

Despite the massively overwrought description and high camp packaging on the box, this is really a pretty basic and simple scent. It's not a great projector, it has weak sillage for the price. At 50mls even for a reasonable dose you will be through a bottle very quickly if you choose this as your day to day fragrance. Don't get me wrong, it's nice, inoffensive, clean and crisp. But all the dramatic language and huge list of fragrance notes used to promote the product are just is not present in the scent. If you lash out and don't love it, don't worry because at just 50mls you will use this up very, very quickly as it does not have a lot of punch or power.

Glad of the Sample

Would never have picked this up if I'd seen the box first. I'm so glad for the small sample vial sent. Was hooked on first smell. Evokes the nostalgia of the first time I kissed my husband and breathed in the smell of his bike jacket. A beautiful scent that is surprisingly subtle and brings out the natural masculine smell rather than masking it. Whenever we go out now, I ask him to wear this for me.
