D. R. Harris Rose Shaving Cream is a top quality, concentrated shaving cream formulated with a high proportion of glycerine for an extra soothing and moisturising shave. Fragranced with Rose Essential Oil, Rose Geranium Essential Oil and Rose Hip Oil, renowned for their healing and soothing properties. Best used with a shaving brush.

Scoop out an almond sized amount and use a shaving brush to work up a lather. Apply to beard and wait 2 minutes to allow hair to soften. Cream may also be applied directly to the face and worked into a lather using your fingers. Shave in the same direction as hair growth. Rinse with cool water.

As stated, a rose fragrance. A happy feeling every time. Perfect for a bowl lather and remember to work the lather with water. Makes a yogurty sweet shave cream. Coupled with Santa Maria Novella rose water toner post-shave: gorgeous.

Under rated star performer

After trying out the sample packs, I have come to the conclusion that the one cream that really stood out is this one here. I've come to love it's rose scent. It it scented exactly like sniffing a real rose, not like the typical rose fragrance you would find in most commercial brand hand creams.

Performance wise, it's really not hard to whip up a good lather with this cream, as I would expect.

Love and hate the red colouring in the cream. Love it because the lather has a tinge of red when it lathers up, hate that it sometimes stains the brush tips even after thorough washing. BUT, it will go away after a while.

Do give it a try, as this will be a constant member in my rotation of cream and soaps.

Top quality good value cream. D R Harris has another winner.

Consistency: 8.5. A thicker cream than most. Assume that it could be called a so called "croap". Wouldn't need quite as much as typical to produce a lot of lather.

Fragrance : 8.0. Very nice calming rose scent. Easy to like but some may find it a little feminine.

Lather: 8.5 Very easy to lather up well. Take care not to use too much. Produces a good thick creamy lather.

Shave: 8.0. Good standard shave with this cream. Fair glide. As there was unlathered soap in the mug by the 3rd pass I added a few drops of water to create further good lather so it never dried out.

Razor clog. 9. Very easy to rinse off razor while shaving. One of the best so far.

Aftershave moisturisation: 7. An ok amount of after shave moisturisation. Not as good as others but still left the skin feeling good. Would likely need an after shave moisturiser but I generally use one in my routine. (Best is Geo F Trumpers Skin Food).

Overall: 8.5

Recommend? Yes, definitely. A good quality cream that is great value as so little is needed. D R Harris also have a huge range of scents available in sample packs so highly recommend giving them a go.
